You can read, but can you read like a pro?
Beschreibung
Course description During this unit, we will continue with the powerful historical-fiction novel 'Princess Sophia Duleep Singh' by Sufiya Ahmed. We are now around half way through the book and still have a lot to gain from the remaining pages. Continuing on with our reading skills, we'll take a close, analytical look at the language used in some of the more dramatic scenes while also writing responses to reading questions using the P.E.E format. The end of the unit will focus more on creative writing as this book affords many opportunties for inspiring creations! This captivating tale centred around immigration and women's rights will give us opportunities to explore the importance of context when reading a text, characterisation, inferencing, building comprehension, skimming, scanning, cause and effect, plot, setting and understanding main ideas, among other key reading and analysis skills.
