Course description **Hi Maggie, please just book once - I've included both girls in the price and taken off the cost of two lessons for my paternity leave** In this specially designed unit, students learn how to create and develop a formal essay based on the Amazon jungle. In it, pupils write about deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest with facts derived from research presented in clear paragraphs. The essay question given calls for pupils to write their essay as a single line of argument. This requires them to interrogate what an essay question is asking them to write, using research, planning and paragraphs that build on each other to answer the question fully. The question given asks pupils to follow a single line of argument about how deforestation is negatively impacting the Amazon Rainforest. 1. Identifying the features of an essay 2. Researching deforestation in the Amazon rainforest 3. Setting out a logical argument in response to an essay title 4. Planning and writing the introduction to an essay 5. Planning and writing the first main paragraph of an essay 6. Planning and writing the second main paragraph of an essay 7. Planning and writing the conclusion of an essay 8. Editing, proofreading, presenting and finishing off the unit. All learning will be consolidated with lesson feedback reports which outline the key features of the lesson, ensuring that the knowledge gained can be reviewed and revisited at the child's pleasure. A Zoom link and welcome pack will be sent to you via email. If you don't receive this before the first class, please check your spam / junk folder. Failing that, please send us an email. I can't wait to get started, see you there!

Umbuchung & Kündigung
In order to cancel/reschedule a lesson, please notify the tutor 24 hours before the lesson is due to begin. This gives the tutor a fair opportunity to fill your slot. Classes cancelled/rescheduled with under 24 hours notice may incur a charge amounting to the full lesson cost. Make-up classes may not be offered for classes cancelled by students. All cancellation and reschedule requests should be made by parents/guardians rather than by students (under 18) and sent via email (contact@mlukenglish.com) or WhatsApp (+44 7782554789). For lessons in which the student appears to be late, the tutor is obliged to wait for 15 minutes before leaving the meeting and may not return thereafter. If the student does not connect and if contact has not been made by the parents prior to the lesson or during the waiting time, the lesson will be classed as a ‘no show’ and automatically cancelled. The account may be charged at the tutor’s discretion. When purchasing a package of lessons or a course, the client agrees to attend the scheduled lessons. Therefore, if three or more classes are cancelled consecutively, the account may be permanently terminated. In this case, a refund of 80% of the remaining fee for the package or course purchased will be issued to the client. The remaining 20% will be held by the tutor as an administration fee. If the client purchases a package of lessons or a course but decides to terminate the course, an administration fee of 20% of the total cost will be charged. The outstanding balance will be refunded to the client. This does not affect your statutory rights. Regarding group classes only, if a student is unable to attend a lesson, parents can request that the lesson be recorded and sent in order for the student to review. In these cases, the tutor should be notified six hours before the class is due to begin. If the tutor needs to cancel a session, they should also aim for 24 hours with a minimum of 12 hours. In extreme cases, this may not be adhered to, but a make-up class should be offered to the student as soon as possible. Some classes may be recorded for training and marketing purposes. By purchasing a service, the client agrees to the terms above.
