服務說明

Course description  Lesson 1 - Introduction to the unit + developing vocabulary Synonyms and connotations are key to writing engaging narratives! (COMPLETED) Lesson 2 - Creating Settings and Introductions A look at some sensational settings from a few of the world’s best-loved narratives. How can we create a setting which instantly draws the reader into the world of your story? What’s the role of sensory language when describing settings? Lesson 3 - Developing Characters Building and developing characters which are both layered and believable isn’t always easy! In this lesson, we are guided through the process of character creation. Let’s find out what it takes to build a character which your reader is going to love or maybe love to hate! Lesson 4 - Narrative Structure You’ve carefully considered your setting, created a character which you’re proud of and learned some key writing techniques. But how to start knitting all of that together? Join me to find out in this narrative structure session which will explore Freytag’s pyramid among some other gems! Lesson 5 - Tension and Suspense The tension and suspense in your story is what’s going to keep your readers’ eyes glued to the pages and what keeps their hands hovering over the page corners ready to turn over and find out what’s next! Lesson 6 – Literary Devices Do you know your alliteration from your anaphora? Are you in a muddle over metaphors? Perplexed by personification? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered in this lovely lesson on literary devices! Lesson 7 – Symbolism Maybe you’ve always wondered why there’s almost always a bat ominously flying around in a gothic horror story. Or, why that author keeps referring to a tree? It’s got nothing to do with the story, right? Let’s discover the magic of symbolism together in this one. Lesson 8 – Review and assessment Let's put all of our hard work together! All learning will be consolidated with lesson feedback reports which outline the key features of the lesson, ensuring that the knowledge gained can be reviewed and revisited at the child's pleasure.  I can't wait to get started, see you there!

取消政策

In order to cancel/reschedule a lesson, please notify the tutor 24 hours before the lesson is due to begin. This gives the tutor a fair opportunity to fill your slot. Classes cancelled/rescheduled with under 24 hours notice may incur a charge amounting to the full lesson cost. Make-up classes may not be offered for classes cancelled by students. All cancellation and reschedule requests should be made by parents/guardians rather than by students (under 18) and sent via email (contact@mlukenglish.com) or WhatsApp (+44 7782554789). For lessons in which the student appears to be late, the tutor is obliged to wait for 15 minutes before leaving the meeting and may not return thereafter. If the student does not connect and if contact has not been made by the parents prior to the lesson or during the waiting time, the lesson will be classed as a ‘no show’ and automatically cancelled. The account may be charged at the tutor’s discretion.  When purchasing a package of lessons or a course, the client agrees to attend the scheduled lessons. Therefore, if three or more classes are cancelled consecutively, the account may be permanently terminated. In this case, a refund of 80% of the remaining fee for the package or course purchased will be issued to the client. The remaining 20% will be held by the tutor as an administration fee.  If the client purchases a package of lessons or a course but decides to terminate the course, an administration fee of 20% of the total cost will be charged. The outstanding balance will be refunded to the client. This does not affect your statutory rights.  Regarding group classes only, if a student is unable to attend a lesson, parents can request that the lesson be recorded and sent in order for the student to review. In these cases, the tutor should be notified six hours before the class is due to begin.  If the tutor needs to cancel a session, they should also aim for 24 hours with a minimum of 12 hours. In extreme cases, this may not be adhered to, but a make-up class should be offered to the student as soon as possible.  Some classes may be recorded for training and marketing purposes. By purchasing a service, the client agrees to the terms above.
